There are about a hundred caves and pits along the Krka River, with 67 within the boundaries of Krka National Park.
A total of 129 taxa have been recorded in the speleological structures in Krka National Park, and pursuant to the Nature Conservation Act, all subterranean animals are protected by law. Except Oziđana pećina cave, caves and pits in Krka NP are not open to visitors.
