The world of plants

Thanks to the floral and geographic position, the Krka River basin, with varied intermingled habitats, at present contains 1197 plant species and subspecies.

The rich floral system consists of 115 families and 481 genera.

The families represented by the largest number of species are legumes (Fabaceae), grasses (Poaceae), and composites (Asteraceae), while the most numerous genera are clovers (Trifolium), sedges (Carex) and buttercups (Ranunculus).
