International Police Education for a Safe Tourist Season


In order to protect the property of local and foreign visitors, police officers for supervision and planning of the Šibenik-Knin and Split-Dalmatia Police Offices will carry out preventive activities

on Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23 in the area of Skradin and the Krka National Park as a part of the project “A Safe Tourist Season”.

Local police forces will be joined by Korean, German, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Italian and Macedonian officials to contribute, in direct contact with visitors, to the safety of individuals and the protection of property. Skradin and the Krka National Park are favorite destinations, especially in the summer when large numbers of people visit them daily, so extra caution is necessary to make the visit carefree and memorable only for exceptional natural and cultural features.

That is why at two info points, on Thursday, August 22, from 9 to 12 in Skradin, in front of the branch office of the Krka National Park, and on Friday, August 23, at the same time, but on the plateau above the Skradinski buk waterfall, police officers will give useful advice for a safe and enjoyable vacation and hand out leaflets with basic preventative measures that anyone can and should take to protect their property during the holidays. Attention will be drawn to urging visitors to close doors and windows in their holiday accommodation, to lock up bikes, and to use extra caution when diving and swimming.

The Safe Tourism Season project was launched back in 2006, and this year is being held for the thirteenth year in a row, with the aim of achieving maximum security for Croatian citizens and foreign visitors staying in the Republic of Croatia during the tourist season. It is the result of cooperation between the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism, with the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia involved the implementation of the Safe Tourism Season project, in which more than 100 foreign police officers from 21 police organizations from the European Union and the region, as well as from distant destinations such as China and South Korea, will stay and patrol in Croatian destinations.
